UTAH Photo location guide

Utah is such a gorgeous state with a variety of photo locations! Here I have listed some of my favorite photography locations with photos - perfect for engagements, bridals, families or portraits. There are no travel fees within 50 miles of my home base Orem, UT.

Located in Provo Canyon. There are many beautiful trees here with a walking path, river, and waterfall! There is also a park nearby with a grassy open area and a great backdrop of the mountains. Season: Spr/Su/F

South Fork Park is just a short drive up Provo Canyon with a stunning backdrop of the mountains! This is one of my favorite locations in the winter time if you want snowy mountains without a big drive up into the canyon. Seasons: Spr/Su/F/W

This location features a beautiful open meadow up Provo Canyon. It is becoming a very popular place for photos, but even when it is busy you can always find a quiet area to have to yourselves. The grass is green in the spring and summer and yellow/brown in the fall. Season: Su/F/W

Located in Hobble Creek Canyon in Springville, UT. The best features of Jolley's Ranch are the white rustic barn, large open field, and stunning mountain backdrop. The scenery is particularly gorgeous in the summer and fall. It is also part of a dic golf course so you can make it a date night or family fun night activity! Season: Spr/Su/F/W

Utah Lake in Provo Harbor offers a mix of grassy parks, docks, and beach-like jetties! A great location for the in-between season when it is not quite green in the spring yet or even in the fall when all the leaves have dropped but it is not quite snowy yet! $10 Utah State Parks fee. Season: Spr/Su/F/W

Utah Lake (specifically in Vineyard) offers a mix of natural features, including mountains, wetlands, cattails, a swing, and beaches. Gorgeous particularly during golden hour as the sun drops behind Eagle Mountain! Easy access with free parking. Season: Spr/Su/F/W

Located in Daybreak, UT. Popular due to its diverse scenery, including a lake, docks, walking trails, and surrounding nature, offering varied backdrops for memorable photos. Easy access with free parking. Season: Spr/Su/F/W

Located in American Fork Canyon. Perfect for year-round photos. Green in the summer, snowy in the winter! $10 parking fee. Season: Spr/Su/F/W

This is a hidden gem in North Bountiful, UT. It starts as a small hiking trail that leads to beautiful mountainous landscapes and a beautiful view of the valley. The colors are especially beautiful in the fall time! Season: Sp/Su/F

This location is a popular spot for outdoor recreation in the summertime. Located near Salt Lake City and within the Wasatch Mountains, it offers stunning mountain backdrops with pristine calm waters of the reservoir. Season: Spr/Su/F

Big Mountain Pass is a hidden gem, offering a stunning array of features that make it an ideal location for breathtaking photos. Nestled in the Wasatch Mountains, this lookout point is a perfect blend of majestic mountain backdrops and golden aspen groves. Seasons: Spr/Su/F

Jordan Pines is a beautiful campground located in Big Cottonwood Canyon. This is the perfect location for those looking for a mountain-feel. Season: Sp/Su/F/W

Located in Park City, UT. Great location for families or senior photos. The barn gives a rustic, yet clean look to brighten the backgrounds of your photos! Season: Sp/Su/F

The Bonneville Salt Flats are famous for their seemingly infinite, flat terrain, which stretches as far as the eye can see. Although it is a bit of a drive, it is so worth it. If you like light, bright, vast, and otherworldly landscapes, then this is the location for you! $75 travel fee. Season: Su/F/W
